Virginia Horne

Virginia is from Honolulu, Hawaii, where she began dancing in ballet, tap, jazz, and hula. She continued on with classical ballet, and has danced with Ballet Hawaii, Colorado Ballet, Konstantin Uralsky’s Ballet New York, and Connecticut Ballet. Virginia has also performed as a guest artist with the Northeast Youth Ballet, Neglia Ballet Artists, Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico, New England Dance Theater, and Ballet NY, as well as many independent choreographers in New York City. Ms Horne has done several international projects including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, MTV Italia in Rome, and as a guest principal dancer in Guatemala City. Virginia discovered the GYROTONIC® method in 2002 and the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® has allowed her to sustain a career in dance by improving the quality of her movement, as well as prevent and rehabilitate injuries. She has studied under Billy Macagnone, Erika Hasaan, Debra Rose, Miriam Barbosa, Chantal Deeble, and Jennifer Daly. Virginia is certified in Gyrotonic as well as the Jumping Stretch Board, Leg Extension Unit, GYROTONER®, and also the Gyrotonic Application for Dancers. She is currently a Principal dancer with Thomas/Ortiz Dance, Thang Dao Dance Company, and Continuum Contemporary Ballet.
