The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is a revolutionary movement system that draws from key principles of gymnastics, swimming, ballet, and yoga. With GYROTONIC® exercise, major muscle groups are worked interdependently and in an integrated manner in order to increase range of motion and develop coordination. The movements of GYROTONIC® exercise are performed with spherical awareness and circularity, unlike the movements of most conventional exercises, where linear or isolated movement patterns are performed. All GYROTONIC® motion patterns are natural, turbulence-free, and pure. This creates a bridge between contraction and extension through the rotating movement of the joints; movement which emphasize multiple joint articulation without compression, strengthening ligaments and all attachments. GYROTONIC® exercise simultaneously stretches and strengthens the entire body with minimal effort.

Additionally, each exercise is synchronized with a breathing pattern and is performed with rhythm, creating a cardiovascular-aerobic stimulation that can be either gentle or vigorous depending on the intensity and speed of the execution. Special attention is paid to increasing the functional capacity of the spine, resulting in a balanced support system for the skeleton and a body that is less prone to injury.

All sporting activities demand strength, flexibility, coordination, and range of motion. The GYROTONIC® Expansion System offers athletes these crucial elements yet also provides them with an even greater degree of endurance, versatility and gracefulness, increasing their ability to perform any athletic skill or motion.

GYROTONIC® equipment has been developed around the human body with emphasis on total and complete freedom of movement. All of the equipment was designed to enhance the process of building coordination, strength, and flexibility. GYROTONIC® exercises offer the same healthy resistance provided by water, but unlike exercises that are performed under water, where it is difficult to regulate an exact movement pattern and correct position, exercises performed on GYROTONIC® equipment are done with maximum adjustability to the range of motion and control of positioning

An ordinary painter's ladder provided the inspiration for what later became the Gyrotonic Archway; while experimenting with the painter's ladder, Juliu Horvath envisioned and developed a multitude of exercises that users could perform on such a structure.Learn More

The Jumping-Stretching Board is now available to the public. Over 60 unique exercises can be performed on the JSB.Learn More

On most exercise equipment designed to strengthen the legs, a simple back and forth motion on a pivot can cause stress in various muscles and ligaments, especially in and around the knee.Learn More

After many years of research and development, Juliu Horvath began to make available to GYROTONIC Trainers the Pulley Tower Combination Unit, often called the Pulley Tower, and various versions have appeared over the last 20 years.Learn More

Juliu Horvath developed the movements that one can perform on the GYROTONER® so that various muscle groups, tendons and ligaments in the spine, arms, hips, legs and ankles, among other body parts, could be strengthened and stretched simultaneously while the user consciously engages breathing patterns ...Learn More
