About the Training Process

At Body Evolutions, we are passionate about and deeply committed to sharing GYROTONIC® movement on a large scale.

We are dedicated to building the overall pool of expert trainers in order to deliver the wonderful GYROTONIC® system to an ever broadening population. Authorized Master Trainer and studio owner, BIlly Macagnone will be hosting increasingly more teacher trainings at Body Evolutions throughout each year.

If you are interested in becoming a teacher of GYROTONIC® exercise, details on how to do so are posted below. We have a set schedule of teacher trainings for 2012, but may be able to schedule additional teacher trainings on request. If you do not see a date that works for you please contact us about arranging one.

PROCESS FOR BECOMING A GYROTONIC® TEACHER
1 - PRIVATE SESSIONS
We recommend at least 10 private sessions before one begins the process of becoming a teacher. This is a minimum recommendation, however the more private instruction you have before starting your pre-training, the better.

2 - GYROTONIC LEVEL 1 PRE-TRAINING COURSE
The purpose of this course is to provide a foundational understanding of the Gyrotonic level 1 exercises and prepare students physically for the Gyrotonic Level 1 Foundation Course. During this course students focus on gaining experience, and developing a personal understanding of the exercises on the Pre-Training Course exercise list.  Prerequisites: A basic understanding of the Gyrotonic, level 1, progression I exercises. Students typically take ten or more classes with a Certified Gyrotonic Trainer to aquire enough experience to begin this course.

Conducted by: A Gyrotonic Pre-Trainer or a Gyrotonic Master Trainer. Duration: Minimum 6 days/30 hours

Upon successful completion: Once students have successfully completed the Gyrotonic Level 1 Pre-Training Course, they may proceed to the Gyrotonic Level 1 Foundation Course.

3 - GYROTONIC LEVEL 1 FOUNDATION TEACHER TRAINING
12-day course (60 hours in total)
An intensive course conducted by Authorized Master Trainer Billy Macagnone. Upon successful completion you are issued a Certificate of Apprenticeship and you can begin providing instruction to clients.

4 - APPRENTICESHIP REQUIREMENTS
As an Apprentice, you have 18 months to log a specific amount of teaching client hours and to attend a Supervised Apprentice Review course with a Master Trainer. Course requirements are:
- Gyrotonic: 60 hours of Teaching Client Hours and 30 hours of Supervised Apprentice Hours with a Master Trainer.

5 - FINAL CERTIFICATION
Once you have successfully completed your Apprenticeship Period, which is determined by your Master Trainer, you enroll in a final 3 day/15 hour Final Certification Course. In America, these courses are typically conducted in Miami, FL. The certification course must be taken 6 to 18 months after your Foundation training. After your Certification, you will be able to attain added specialty equipment training as well as advanced level 2 training.
