Meet GYROTONIC® Trainer Ezra Goh!

Take a class with Ezra this week!

Our trainer, Ezra Goh, shares that he has stage fright, but what motivates him is his passion to help people to "re-friend" their bodies and to find perpetual freedom. Here's more about the man behind the trainer!

Ezra is easily bored and constantly restless, finding himself picking up a new hobby every couple of years. And of course, being a Capricorn, he will inevitably find a way to monetize the hobby and turn it into a job. He grew up on track to becoming a lawyer, nearly became a pastor, served in the military, then blunder-bussed his dance education after taking his first ballet class at the age of 21. You can therefore imagine the kind of tensions built up from the abrupt life changes and the trauma of crash coursing ballet in 3 years. After studying a myriad of somatic practices, including yoga, pilates, zen dance, continuum, etc, he finally found everything he was looking for in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®.

Ezra takes to heart the words of founder Juliu Horvath, "I want music in my body and poetry in my body, and I want to be skillful without struggle; it has to come without struggle." He sees GYROTONIC® not as an exercise system for bodies to subscribe to, but a method of thought that facilitates a sensitivity, understanding, and therefore mastery of the body's biomechanics. As such, he believes that the method is for everyone, regardless of body type or the state it is in. He currently works with a diverse clientele ranging from young athletes looking to improve their performance; elderly and injured rehabilitating towards living pain free on the day-to-day; to new mothers seeking to restrengthen the body's support systems postpartum.

Through teaching the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, Ezra seeks to help people re-friend their bodies; build strength that is both tensile and elastic; find power that flows and breathes; and over and above all, exist in a state of perpetual freedom. When he is not doing that, Ezra spends his hours dancing, choreographing, powerlifting, working on photography projects and playing Magic the Gathering.

We must not cease from exploration. And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we began and to know the place for the first time.
